Nous adorons Michael. Nous voulons regarder dans ses yeux et faire des choses a lui. Don't speak French? Well, Michael speaks the language of love, so he's sure to catch our message. (For the non-Frenchies, we simply said, "We love Michael. We want to look into his eyes and do things to him..." Then our minds wandered into territory that wouldn't be suitable for this story.)

There's more to Michael than meets the eye, though what does meet the eye is quite pleasing. He's a guitar-playing, mother-loving hockey buff and painter (really!), but he doesn't -- we repeat, doesn't -- like to be thought of as a sex symbol. Born in a small town in France, he moved to L.A. at 18 to live with his mom and enrolled in acting classes at her urging. In 1991 he made his debut in two French films, and in 1993 was nominated for a Cesar (the French equivalent of the Academy Award) for his work in Fiorile. Casting directors across the ocean soon took notice, and Michael began making appearances on TV shows like Friends and Ally McBeal and in films like The Pallbearer, The Myth of Fingerprints, To Wong Foo... and last year's haunting One Hour Photo.

And who can forget when he planted a big, fat, wet one on Drew Barrymore in Never Been Kissed? (A lip lock that he claims was one of the best in his life, despite the fact that he loathed the character of Sam Coulson.) These days, we're lucky enough to catch Michael seducing fellow spy and CIA operative Sydney Bristow each Sunday night on Alias. In doing so, he has teenage girls, mothers of two and every woman in between wistfully daydreaming about l'amour -- at least, l'amour de Michael. In fact, his following is so devoted that many have dubbed themselves "Vartan ho's." Um, where do we sign up?

Fun Facts:
- He's not afraid to commit, he just hasn't met the right girl: Michael dated actress Shannon Gleason for a decade. They called off their engagement in 1999.
- Prior to hitting it big on the silver screen, he earned his keep playing pool.
- The key to winning his heart? Michael wants a corn-fed gal who is "sweet, sweet, sweet."
